Our Daily Spring Photo

Time for our daily spring photo.  Today we have a couple pictures of the Rose of Sharon hedge between my property and the house next door.


This hedge forms a wonderful privacy screen between my driveway and the neighboring driveway.  We enjoy the beautiful blossoms in the spring, and once they are gone, we have a lush green hedge.


In this shot you can see the brown pods from the previous season where each flower bloomed.  Take a look at the shot below.


You can see the green pods along, and at the end of the stem.  Each of these contain a flower.  After the blooms fall away, the pods stay intact during the dormant season.  As the spring season continues, these pods from the previous years fall to the ground and new pods form.  So there is a lesson on Rose of Sharon.
