Organizing the Panty at Dewey Street

The past week has been one of transition as we slowly make our move from Crest Avenue to Dewey Street. One of the first things we needed to do was to clean out and reorganize the pantry.  I think we did a pretty good job.

We started with some disarray.

And some underutilized space.

And a second shelving area that was hard to access due to some items stacked on the floor.

This holder for brooms and mops and other cleaning instruments was removed and relocated.

After several hours we had gotten rid of all the expired food items and we set about reorganizing.

Better organization here on the smaller side shelves.

This is a shot of the cleaned off shelves just as we were starting to reorganize.

Still making some decisions on where we want everything.

And finally, nice, neatly organized shelves with everything close at hand.

We placed all of the cooking pots and serving pieces along the top two shelves.

This pantry closet was designed and built specifically for this purpose when the kitchen addition was constructed in the early 2000's.  I believe we have good command of the space now and it will be a joy to enter rather than frightful.
