When Was the Last Time You Saw a One-Lane Bridge?

For many of us, the answer is "never."  I think that somewhere along the line I have seen a one-lane bridge in my travels.  But it has been many, many years.  While we were traveling between Waynesboro and Gettysburg during the wedding weekend, we came upon just such a bridge.

We were out in the lush green countryside and the next thing we knew, there was this little one lane bridge with traffic lights controlling the flow of traffic.  So we stopped to wait our turn.

The G. Donald McLaughlin Memorial Covered Bridge.  Then we were off and through the bridge.

There was a bit of a "bounce" when we entered, which is evidenced by the blurry picture seen above. The road surface of the bridge was made up of wooden planks.

Finally things settled down and we made our way out the other side.  Another fun part of the weekend.
