The storm that came through Washington and surrounding areas this week was, ... well, ... like nothing we have seen for some time. What did I hear on the news last night? As much as seven inches of rain over two days? That was the extreme. I think in DC proper it was a little over five inches. Amazing amounts of rain. The Rock Creek was well over its banks with what looked like rapids. For those who know, the Rock Creek is not a white water rapid body of water.
This morning we were all so happy to see the clouds part and the sunshine start to peek through.
A pretty steely blue sky this morning over the Whitehurst Freeway.
And the pavement drying along this in-ground drain.
"April showers bring May flowers." I think that statement is particularly relevant this year.
