Yesterday I visited NAHB (National Association of Home Builders). NAHB is "THE" trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority. They have been in existence since 1942.
This is the group who, among other things. lobbies Congress for things such as keeping the mortgage interest tax deduction from becoming extinct. NAHB's various groups analyze policy issues, work toward improving the housing finance system, and analyze and forecast economic and consumer trends.
As stated on their website:
Vision
"Recognize housing and housing providers as the strength of America and create an environment where every American has the opportunity for a safe, decent and affordable home in a suitable living environment provided by an entrepreneurial and competitive industry."
If you are interested in reading more or if you would like information on joining the association, you can log onto their website at www.nahb.org.
