At Bob and Bette's wedding, we hired a floral designer to decorate the pergola and to make centerpieces for the tables at the brunch. They did a spectacular job, as you will see below. Bev offered to make the unity candle and, as usual with anything she does, it was spectacular. Take a look.
Here are Bev and Steven just after we arrived, setting up the unity candle in the spot where Bob and Bette would exchange vows. They went with the traditional vows that we all know, and I thought it was just perfect. None of this silliness that we hear at some weddings these days.
The floral arrangement on the pergola was perfection. We could not have been happier. From these pictures, it looks like we asked them to decorate with red, white and purple. We, of course, did not. That is just how it photographed.
Beautiful pink alstromera.
Purple narcissus.
Alstromera.
More alstromera. These are a member of the lily family. They are one of my favorite flowers. They are very common. You can find them in the floral department of most large grocery chains and a couple bunches in a glass vase are wonderful around the house.
Beautiful white hydrangea. Bette chose green and white as the predominant colors for the wedding. A very good choice indeed. The day was magical.

I supplied the white tablecloth and the flower ring was provided by the floral designer who adorned the pergola. At first glance Bev and I both thought the ring was a little too large. But in the end, it looked beautiful.
The table all set with two tapers which were used to light the unity candle. I loved the lighter shaped like a big wooden match.
And the candle that Bev made. I don't know how she did this. She has promised to share with me how to do this. It was just stunning.
