WOW! What a difference a few days make. We do not have warm weather to enjoy this morning. As a matter of fact it is much, much lower than freezing. It was 18 degrees when we got up this morning. And the wind is howling which brings that number much lower. I think the weather forecast I got this morning said that it will be 5 degrees tonight and 12 degrees tomorrow. I don't mind the cold, but this is a bit much even for me. In addition to the cold, we had snow last night. It started around the time of the evening rush hour and went through until about 10:00 PM at Crest Avenue. Here are some shots of our winter wonderland this morning.
We did not get enough snow to shut down the city, so everyone is out this morning. Life goes on. January and February are our true winter months, so we will see what the next 60 days bring.
The front yard. |
The driveway side of the front yard. |
The Rose of Sharon hedge next to the driveway. |
To the right of the front door, through the privet hedge. |
The pots on the front stoop which were alive with most beautiful pink and white begonias during the summer. |
A snow covered boxwood hedge. |
We had a little damage to the Sweet Gum tree in the front yard. Thankfully no damage to the house. |
A spectacular shot of the large purple hydrangea. |
More snow covered boxwoods. |
The ornamental grass looking like a giant spider of some description. |
Across the street. Look at that beautiful, brilliant blue sky. |
And finally the aged Sweet Gum trees in the back yard, heavy laden with snow. |
