How Much is that Giraffe in the Window?
I saw him in the window of a shop in the Wynn Resort last week and I fell in love with him. But the pricetag was a little high. So I returned home sans giraffe. Should I send for him?
I really think he needs to come live at Crest Avenue. Let me know what you think.

Watermelon and Kiwi with Coconut Lime Creme
Today we are returning to Dana Moos book, The Art of Breakfast. As I continue my journey through this book, I am not disappointed. Clearly, Dana has thought out these recipes thoroughly and has prepared each dish numerous times and is certain that each recipe works. The latest creation is Watermelon and Kiwi with Coconut Lime Creme.
This is a spectacular dish. Not only is it beautiful to look at, but it is incredibly delicious. The coconut lime creme is out of this world. Even if you are not a fan of watermelon or kiwi, I strongly suggest you make it. You could use it on any fruit. The recipe can be found on page 140 in Dana's book.
Next week we will be making Pineapple Banana Cairns with Cinnamon Creme.

| We started with a miniature, seedless watermelon and ripe kiwi sliced thick (I sliced them about 1/2" thick.) |
![]() |
| I sliced the watermelon into wedges and removed the rind. Then I started stacking, placing the watermelon first. |
![]() |
| A squeeze of fresh lime juice over the stack. |
![]() |
| Then a hearty spoonful of the coconut lime creme and a little lime zest. |

A Little Shopping at Wynn
There is lot's of shopping available at the Wynn Resort. As I made my way through the Esplanade, I came across these stores.
This is just a few of the high end retailers located on the grounds. There is a Rolex store and, believe it or not, a Ferrari dealership located on one of the lower levels. I love the wall sconce in this picture. The lighting throughout the property is wonderful. See more pictures below.
Everything is over the top at Wynn. You find yourself in the most lush surroundings. Attention to detail is unsurpassed.
Of course, they did not stop with just the interior. The exterior is equally as impressive. I found this sculpture between the Wynn and the Encore.
Beautiful all around. They even made the escalators inviting. I got some wonderful ideas for the landscape at Crest Avenue while I was checking out the grounds at Wynn. Now we just need to spring to arrive and we can get started implementig these new ideas.

Weeeee're Back!!!
Back from beautiful, sunny Las Vegas. It was a wonderful trip. Unfortunately, I did not return with more money than I left with, as it the case, I believe, with most people who venture out for a little fun. Rather than planning on returning with mounds of cash, I spend time planning on setting my limit on what I will lose. Once that limit has been reached, it's time to find something else to entertain myself with other than the casino.
As you know we stayed at the Wynn Resort which is absolutely beautiful. You couldn't ask for more beautiful accomodations. For an Interior Designer and Gardener like myself, it is absolute eye candy. You are just overwhelmed with all the different colors and textures used and the architecture. Here are a few pictures of the resort.
This is the main walkway through the casino after you enter. Table games to the left, slots to the right. I'm a slots player.
This is a restaurant called Parosal Down. Such a fun place. Parasol Down is a cocktail bar. Parasol Up is the Lounge/Restaurant. Both are very colorful and have stunning views on the Lake of Dreams. Notice the curving escalator. I still haven't figured out how someone could design and implement a curving escalator.
Another shot of Parasol Down seating area. Really an amazing space.
These two pictures give you a look at the inlaid floors. Just beautiful. The whole space is over-the-top as you would expect in Las Vegas. I will post more pictures from the trip over the next couple of days.

WTCA Goes to Las Vegas, Baby!!
That's right. We're off to that "playground in the desert."
Beautiful Las Vegas. The home of the "Rat Pack", Elvis, Wayne Newton, Lena Horne and so many other talented people.
We usually stay at Caesars Palace. Caesars is a wonderful hotel and casino and is positioned perfectly on The Strip. It has a good central location. You can get to anything you want easily from there. There is lots of wonderful shopping inside of the hotel. But there is also lots of great shopping elsewhere in that area of the strip.
This year, however, we will be staying at Wynn. I cannot wait. I have viewed the interior and exterior shots on their website and it looks just magnificent. The colors and interior design look positively over-the-top, as I would expect.
It will be a fun trip and there will be lots to blog about. So check back for updates!!!
